Episode I Part 3: Traitors Gambit

Darkness slowly starts to fade as our heroes awaken to find themselves in a dark holding cell. The heroes quickly realize they are one companion short as their new R5 droid is nowhere to be seen. Looking around the heroes see to one side are three unassuming humans who were traders that had been captured by the Empire, for reasons unknown. To the other is the reason our heroes came to Felucia. Admiral Varth. The Admiral looks as if he has been beaten and tortured. Unsure of how well the holding cell is monitored the heroes quietly and cautiously explain to Varth that they are here to rescue him.

Just than the holding cell door opens and two Warden droids march in followed by a young Imperial officer. Captain Vischera pulls out Wren’s light saber and mocks him for being easily captured.

“ I thought Jedi were tougher than this.”

Just as Vischera reaches back to hand the light saber to a Storm trooper, Wren ceases the opportunity and uses the Force to yank the Jedi weapon from the Storm troopers hand.

Wren lights his blade and holds it to Vischera’s throat demanding the heroes’ release. Before Wren can react, the young Captain quickly pulls out a blaster and shoots Wren in the side. Wren slices off Vischera’s blaster hand and the other heroes move in and attack the Warden droids. Vischera falls back as the Warden droids protect his escape. Storm troopers begin to run in as The Omen and Cassandra take down a Warden droid. Tanarkas is able to wrestle a blaster away from one of the Storm troopers and blasts the other Warden Droid. Wren takes a second trooper down as the Omen is blasted by a third.

After a brief battle the heroes along with the other prisoners make their way past the detention center control room and out into the main complex. Tanarkas does his best to heal the Omen’s wounds as a familiar sound comes from one of the rooms down the hall.

The heroes enter what appears to be a medical bay. Here they find a medical droid cleaning out an empty Bacta tank, a human doctor and their missing companion, “The Dude”. As the heroes focus on the human and their companion, the medical droid quickly hits the release button to the other two Bacta tanks. Inside are two large, mutated Felucians. The human is trying desperately to make his way out of the room as the two Felucians erupt from the now open tanks.

Wren quickly takes down one of the mutants with his light saber as Cassandra blasts the other. After removing the restraining bolt from “the Dude” and retrieving their gear Wren and Cassandra chase after the medical droid who enters a room down the hall from the medical bay. As the heroes step in they hear an incoming communication.

“Inquisitor Draco will be arriving within a standard Felucian day/night cycle to take custody of the prisoner.”

The heroes step out and The Dude locks the communications officers and medical droid inside the room.

With the party back together and the Admiral in their custody, the heroes try to make their way out of the facility only to find a cadre of Storm troopers and three AT-ST walkers waiting for them outside the door. Varth suggests maybe going up to the second level where there is a docking bay and they can be picked up. As the Omen and Tanarkas hold back the Storm troopers outside with the gun torrent, Wren, The Dude, Cassandra, and the other prisoners try to clear the upper floor.

Waiting on the second level is a small squad of Storm troopers and two more mutated Felucians. The Felucians attack the heroes in the turbo lift and are quickly dispatched, but not before one of the traders is torn apart. As the heroes step off the lift, the Storm troopers take aim. Wren is able to block a few blasts and than takes out one of the troopers. Cassandra takes out another trooper. One of the traders’ fires at the remaining Storm troopers, but the weapon backfires and explodes in the traders face, killing him instantly. The last two Storm troopers are quickly taken out and the heroes find the young Captain Vischera bleeding to death in a corner of the control room. Admiral Varth steps forward to deliver the killing shot putting the young Captain out of his misery.

Cassandra radios for Captain O’Keefe to come to the outpost. The Omen and Tanarkis set the explosives in the lower level of the facility and join the other heroes on the docking pad as The Banshee arrives. The Heroes leap onto the ship and it flies off as the secret facility explodes into a ball of flame.

The Banshee docks with the Resurgence, a brand new Nebulon-B frigate. After turning over Admiral Varth to Captain Adrian Verana, the heroes are taken to medical for their wounds. Verana joins the heroes in the medical bay and tells them they have been assigned quarters on the Resurgence. Moreover, the agreed-upon credits have been transferred to their respective accounts. He explains that Senator Organa is thankful for their assistance and forever grateful for their aid. Depending on Varth’s debriefing, the Senator may have further need of the heroes help and offers permanent quarters on the Resurgence.

Episode I Part 2 : Traitors Gambit

Our adventure continues as our heroes, Wren, The Omen, Cassandra, Tanarkis and their new R5 astromech droid “The Dude” have just arrived on Alderaan and delivered the frozen spy to senator Bail Organa. After welcoming the party, he invites the heroes to dinner. At dinner the heroes get a chance to get to know a little more about each other and after hearing the Senators plea for help against the Empire, each hero weighs their motivations for joining this new resistance.

After a fine meal, the heroes make their way back to their quarters that Senator Organa has provided. At a scenic corridor the crew’s attention turns from the beautiful landscape of Alderaan to the sound of deep metallic breathing. Cassandra and Tanarkis look up towards the direction of the sound and down drops a dark figure. It is the Emperors right hand, Darth Vader.

Cassandra and the Omen fire their weapons at him, The Omen scoring a minor hit. Vader raises his hand and Force Blasts the Omen back against the wall. He tries it against Cassandra, but doesn’t account for her added weight from being a droid. The group quickly comes together and attacks the Dark Lord of the Sith as The Dude sounds the alarm alerting the palace guards. Vader locks down the doors as the footsteps of the guards can be heard, keeping the battle intimate. As the Dude works on opening the doors Vader now turns his attention to Wren uttering “I must destroy you”. The young Jedi shows his inexperience as he desperately fends off the Dark Lord who has had his hands full with the rest of the party. Finally Wren summons his Jedi training and scores a decisive blow against Vader. Vader stumbles back and the Dark Lords form fades to reveal Kato, Wrens personal training droid, who just downloaded all the palace’s computer files and decided to try a new training program.

The next day the heroes board the Banshee and make their way to Felucia to rescue Admiral Varth. He is being held at a hidden prison for sending Imperial secrets to Senator Organa.

As the Banshee exits hyperspace it encounters an Imperial Star Destroyer. Captain O’Keefe skillfully avoids the destroyer and lands the Banshee on the planet. The Banshee is damaged during the landing and Captain O’Keefe remains behind to repair the ship as the heroes make their way towards the secret prison. Along the way the heroes encounter the dangers of the Felucian fauna, which includes exploding fungi, spiked fungi and acid pools.

Six hours into the trek the heroes march into an open marsh area where they are attacked by a group of Felucian scouts. After quickly dispatching the scouts the heroes are approached by Vazus Mandrake, a mercenary from the Clone Wars who was abandoned on the planet. He was taken in by the Felucians and has been living with them since the War.

He asks the heroes help him return the fallen Felucians back to the village. Once there, Vazus acts as the group’s translator and brings them to the Shaman. The heroes explain to the chief why they are there. The Shaman tells them that he will provide them with a guide if while they are rescuing the Admiral they would destroy the Vanishing Place; a name the base has been given by the Felucians after many from the village disappeared near the area. The heroes agree and are than taken to their own hut to rest before their mission.

The Shaman requests Wren remain behind so they can discus the ways of the Force. After a brief exchange the Shaman realizes that Wren is still unskilled in his Force training and decides to teach him how to use the Force Blast.

As night falls, the heroes prepare to continue their mission, but before leaving the village, they discover a hut of sick children. Vazus tells the heroes that they were taken to the base and when they were released they fell sick. Tarnakis uses his treat injury skills to deduce that the children are infected with a synthetic virus and using the plants and herbs from the village healer creates a vaccine. The Felucians quickly change their opinion of the heroes, but before the villagers can express their gratitude, the heroes notice an Imperial biker scout just outside the village. The scout takes off on his speeder bike as the heroes are led to a pen of Kybucks where they mount up and quickly chase after the scout.

They Kybucks are fast and the heroes quickly catch up to the scout, but the jungles of Felucia are dense and confusing and The Omen is quickly turned around. Wren also finds himself out of the chase when his Kybuck takes a wrong turn. It is down to Cassandra and Tarnakis to continue the chase. As the scout flies into a fallen tree that is now part of a series of tunnels, Tanarkis takes the path around the tunnels while Cassandra follows the scout. Cassandra is almost upon the scout when a low hanging vine pulls her off her Kybuck.

The scout enters an open field as Tanarkis continues to follow. Suddenly the ground erupts as a dying Rancor slashes out at Tarnarkis barely missing him. The rest of the party enters the clearing just as the Rancor dies and they continue into the brush after Tanarkis.

The scout leads the group to a river where an AT-ST and more scouts are waiting for them. Unable to cross the river separating them the AT-ST begins to fire blindly in the area of the heroes where they use the giant mushrooms for cover. As Wren and Tanarkis make their way around one side, Cassandra and the Omen try to flank the troopers. The Dude uses his diminutive size to stealthily make his way up the middle towards the AT-ST.

Wren uses the Force to pull one scout off his speeder and into the river where Tanarkis finishes him off. As Wren comes around a giant mushroom the AT-ST fires a blast that evaporates his Kybuck and sends him flying into the brush. He quickly gets up and deflects a couple of blasts from two storm troopers. Wren than jumps onto the legs of the AT-ST causing the troopers to have to shoot at one of their own.

Meanwhile the Omen sets up behind a mushroom and begins to blast the AT-ST from behind while Cassandra finishes off the original Biker Scout. The AT-ST turns and blasts the mushroom next to The Omen sending him back where he falls unconscious. The AT-ST than turns on Cassandra, where she to is blasted off her feet.

The two remaining troopers manage to take down Wren and Tarnarkis. In a last ditch effort the Dude makes his way into the AT-ST where he manages to dispatch the driver and gunner. He than takes control of the AT-ST and begins to fire at the troopers, but The Omen and Wren had done considerable damage to the AT-ST and the troopers finish the job. The Dude rolls out the top hatch as The AT-ST crashes to the ground.

Episode I Part 1: Traitors Gambit

The first fires of Rebellion have begun to burn. Six months after the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire, Senator Bail Organa can no longer sit idly by and watch the once great Republic be twisted by the now self proclaimed Emperor.

Senator Organa had been contacted by an Imperial Admiral who had become disillusioned with the Empire. He had begun feeding information to the Senator when suddenly a week ago all communication stopped. The Senators agents found out that Admiral Varth was being held against his will at a Prison Facility on Felucia. The only way to get this information to the Senator was to have one of the agents frozen in carbonite and shipped to Alderaan.

Young Jedi Wren was sent to Sen Zonn Station to retrieve this cargo. Once there plans quickly began to unravel as his contact, Maya, was discovered and fired upon. Luckily the Space Pirate The Omen and his co-pilot Cassandra were on the station trying to gather information on their ship the Nautilus. After a quick fire fight with some Imperial Informants and Stormtroopers they were able to get Maya out of harms way.

Maya was unconscious, but with the help of a Cantina owner (Gundark) they were able to get her to a Doctor (Byra Fenn). Using information retrieved from a data pad on Maya the now three adventurers went down into a restricted part of the station to meet with Switch, a protocol droid and local gangster.

Wren, The Omen and Cassandra find Switch in the middle of a meeting with a young noble from Correllia. Tanarkis apparently owes Switch money and is trying to work to pay it off. The three try to extract information in regards to the mysterious cargo and how to obtain it. After much back and forth they find that it is located on the Blue Deck. The Omen also finds out that his ship did pass through Switch’s hands and was sold, but before he can find out a gang of thugs bust in and blasts Switch. Apparently another Gangster, Ganga Lor, doesn’t like competition and is here to retire the droid. There is a shoot out with the now four heroes, and the thugs are quickly eliminated, but not before Switch’s thugs turn on the heroes as well. The four leave, but not before taking Switch’s remains and all his information which is downloaded into Cassandra and R5-B8 Switch’s right hand droid who also now joins the group.

They return to Maya who is now on her feet. She tells them she will get the ship while they get the cargo. The five make their way to Blue Deck where the Stormtroopers have been alerted to the cargo. There is another grand shootout and as the heroes are about to get swarmed by a cadre of Stormtroopers, Captain O’Keeffe arrives on the Banshee to take the Heroes and their cargo to Alderaan.

On Alderaan they meet with Senator Organa where he greets them and asks they help him in rescuing Admiral Varth.
